With the Super Football League poised to kick off this weekend, we look at the teams that will compete in the event, including which teams could win the game.
Kansas City Chiefs Chiefs (4-1)The Chiefs are on the verge of a season-high seven straight wins, and they’re already looking to win a franchise-record seven straight AFC West titles.
With Alex Smith healthy and in the top five in the NFL in completion percentage and passer rating, they’re poised to put up a run in the AFC West.
The Chiefs could potentially win a second consecutive Super Bowl.
Cleveland Browns (4,099)With rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer leading a franchise that has won 10 games or more four times in a row, the Browns should have an excellent chance to repeat as AFC champions.
However, with a season that’s featured a quarterback controversy and a coaching change that’s seen the roster drastically altered, the team could struggle to stay healthy and win a division title.
Oakland Raiders (4 and 1)With a solid starting lineup, a potent running game and the best defensive backfield in the league, the Raiders could potentially be the best team in the NFC West this year.
However the Raiders are still looking to bounce back from a disappointing finish to the season.
Tennessee Titans (3-3)Tennessee is looking to return to the playoffs for the first time since 2014.
With a promising quarterback in Marcus Mariota, a young defense and a strong defensive line, the Titans should be a playoff contender this season.
However with injuries and inconsistency, the roster could struggle this season to reach the playoffs.
Green Bay Packers (4)With Aaron Rodgers and the Packers looking to finish as NFC champs, Green Bay is a favorite to win the division this year and potentially the NFC North.
However they have a tough road to make the playoffs with a defense that is one of the NFL’s worst.
New Orleans Saints (4)-The Saints are in the midst of a three-game losing streak and have the league’s worst defense.
The offense is in disarray, with Drew Brees having surgery for a torn ACL.
The defense has lost five starters to free agency and is projected to have a top-10 defense this season with three first-round picks.
Detroit Lions (4 -1)With Calvin Johnson out for the season, the Lions are looking to make a strong playoff run.
However it’s unclear if the offense will be as effective this year, especially with Stafford playing at a higher level than he did a year ago.
Chicago Bears (3)The Bears are in an unfortunate situation with injured quarterback Jay Cutler.
However their offense should be able to keep the offense on track for the postseason.
Philadelphia Eagles (4.)
The Eagles have one of their worst defenses in the history of the league.
The quarterback situation is still very much in flux with Carson Wentz and Bryce Petty.
Indianapolis Colts (3)-With Andrew Luck and T.Y. Hilton both gone, the Colts offense will likely struggle to keep up with the likes of New England and Dallas.
However this could be a team that can make the AFC South in the playoffs this season, if they can stay healthy.
