AUSTRALIA’S top AFL clubs are due to meet at a special AFL grand finals meeting in the lead up to the 2020 Grand Final.

The AFL has hosted the grand finals since the 1950s and is considered the most successful in the competition’s history.AFL grand finals have taken place in Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney since 1960.
But the 2020 grand final will be the first to take the AFL to Melbourne, which was the first city to host a grand final in a professional football competition.
Premier Football League (PFL) clubs have said the grands have become a more important part of their league and are looking forward to the meeting.
“We’re very excited to have the AFL in Melbourne and look forward to meeting with all the AFL clubs and their members and discussing all the issues that will be brought forward during the meeting,” AFL chief executive Gillon McLachlan said.
“It will be a great opportunity for the AFL community to come together and see how we can improve our game and the way that we run our game.”
In 2018, the AFL Grand Final was moved to Adelaide from Sydney, with the new venue being the ABC.
The grand final drew crowds of more than 100,000 fans, with fans spending over $1 billion.
“The AFL Grand Finals has grown in size and capacity, and we’re looking forward in 2020 to a great night of footy,” PFL president Andrew Demetriou said.
