The bill would require HHS to disclose how much the agency spent on its Sports Medicine Program, which focuses on the prevention and treatment of sports injuries, and also to disclose any new health or wellness initiatives it has launched or launched since the start of the fiscal year.
This year’s Sports Medicine Programs were $3.9 billion, which is nearly half the amount spent on health and wellness initiatives during the 2016 fiscal year, according to HHS.
In the past, Congress has sought to curb the cost of health care by providing Congress with information about the health and safety measures in place to protect the public.
