The AFL will hold a media day in Sydney later on Monday with the team expected to be in town for an off-season training camp before returning to their homes for the big match.
The game at ANSA Stadium is expected to see the Sydney Swans lead the way in the AFL, with reigning premiers Geelong and Richmond also expected to make the trip.
The Swans will be joined in their bid to secure a top four spot by the Bombers, with the Lions having won the first two meetings between the two sides.
Geelong’s victory at the MCG on Saturday was followed by a victory over North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium last weekend.
The Blues are likely to return to their home ground to continue their pre-season preparations before the big clash.
The Lions are expected to field a full-strength squad for the game against Melbourne, and could even include several premiership players.AAP
